The UBC Summer Institute in Sustainable Urban Design delivers conceptual knowledge and practical strategies on how to integrate a natural systems approach into the design of buildings, neighbourhoods, and cities.
This range of physical scales will be examined through the lenses of interconnected sustainability themes, including energy, waste, water, biodiversity, transportation, economic prosperity and cultural vitality.
The Institute takes place over six days to provide an in-depth perspective of state-of-the-art practices and techniques in sustainable building and urban design. Institute participants will enjoy inspiring presentations and though-provoking dialogue with experts and colleagues as well as experiential field tours and social-networking opportunities.
