2012 CIP/APPI Conference:
THE GREAT EXCHANGE
Putting Ideas Into Action

Banff, AB
October 9–12, 2012

As professional planners, we are well educated in the theories and principles of sustainability and what goes into creating great places. In many cases we've incorporated these theories and principles of sustainability and good urban design into our community plans. Yet, despite all the talk about transforming our communities into models of planning excellence, we often lack the practical solutions necessary to implement change on the ground. The aim of the 2012 CIP/APPI Conference is to showcase the tools used to get the job done.

2011 CIP/API Conference:
MAKING IT WORK
Planning in a Connected World

St. John's, NL
July 10–13, 2011

The 2011 CIP Conference will explore themes around work, the changing nature of our working world, how the changing nature of work is redefining place and influencing community design and how our profession is responding.  The conference will bring together planners, architects, academics, engineers and policy makers from around the world to explore how our profession is taking advantage of new technologies, partnerships, practices, and theories to provide guidance and leadership to the communities we serve.

2010 CIP Conference:
CLIMATE CHANGE+COMMUNITIES
A Call to Action

Montreal, Quebec
October 2–5, 2010

The CIP Climate Change + Communities Conference will bring together planning professionals from Canada and other countries to address the transnational planning issues of climate change. There will be a series of keynote presentations throughout the conference as well as dozens of concurrent sessions. The aim is to create a forum for detailed discussion, case studies and information that will build on an overall conference content so that attendees are able to take away solid, useful and applicable information to address the effects of climate change on communities and community planning.
