The 2nd annual Caribbean Urban Forum (CUF2012) will be held from 14–17 March 2012 at the Jamaica Conference Centre, Kingston, Jamaica. The CUF2012 is hosted by the Jamaican Institute of Planners, under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Environment and Water, Government of Jamaica. The CUF is one of a series of regional events organized by the Caribbean Network for Urban and Land Management (CNULM), in association with the CARICOM Secretariat. The CUF2012 is also being organized in conjunction with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and the American Planning Association (APA).

The first Caribbean Urban Forum was held in Georgetown, Guyana in April 2011, and brought together official delegates and professional planning practitioners from nine CARICOM member states, Canada, the United States and the Netherlands. Participants endorsed a Caribbean Urban Agenda and advanced preparations for the launch of a regional association of professional planners. The 2011 meeting also initiated a dialogue on a joint research and policy agenda and the technical requirements for urban management in the Region.

CUF2012 will showcase examples of good planning and urban management practice from across the Caribbean, and serve as the launch pad for an association of Caribbean professional planners.
