Brief Biography

A lifelong Winnipegger, Jeff has planning degrees from the University of Manitoba (2003) and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (1997), and an undergraduate Arts degree from the University of Manitoba (1993). He began his career in 2000 working with the Forks Renewal Corporation, a former railyard brownfield in downtown Winnipeg and today Manitoba’s most popular meeting place.

Throughout his career, Jeff’s primary focus has been to revitalize communities. In 2007 Jeff joined CentreVenture, the City of Winnipeg’s downtown development corporation to continue his work rebuilding downtown Winnipeg. In 2011 Jeff worked with the University of Winnipeg Community Renewal Corporation to help develop their downtown and north end campuses. In 2015 Jeff launched Catapult Community Planning with a fellow U of M alumnus, and in 2019 joined the growing Winnipeg office of Urban Systems Ltd. as a Community Planner.

Jeff has extensive Board experience having volunteered his time for Westminster Housing Society and the Performing Arts Lodge, two organizations dedicated to providing affordable housing in our community. Jeff is currently Chair of Storefront Manitoba, an organization dedicated to advancing the awareness and appreciation of architecture, design and the built environment in Manitoba through provocative public interventions.

Jeff is married to Carolyn Frost, a lawyer by profession. They have two young girls. Three of the four continue to enjoy summer holidays in their Volkswagen camper. The fourth is a team player.
