A Job with IMPACT - CIP is Hiring!

2022 has been an exciting year for CIP. With the launch of the new five-year Strategic Plan in July, CIP is at a pivotal point in its over 100-year history. We have a plan – and now we need talented staff to help make it happen!

CIP is looking for creative, agile, and strategic individuals who care deeply about their work and want to support members, add value to the larger Canadian planning ecosystem, and advocate on priority issues for greater collective impact. Priority areas include climate change, reconciliation, healthy communities, housing, and equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

By working at CIP, you will join a supportive, close-knit team, and enjoy flexible hours, benefit from a hybrid work setting, and receive competitive compensation. You also get to be at the forefront of a growing and thriving member-based organization.

CIP imagines a future of inclusive and vibrant communities, respectfully connected to the natural world for the well-being of current and future generations. Be a part of the impact!

Current openings include:

  • Manager, Communications: Help get the word out! Manage our social media, communications, and marketing activities to help bring attention to the important messages we need to share with our members and the larger community. You will also help create eye-catching graphics, and play a key role in the re-development of our website while you’re at it!
  • Officer, National Governance: Think Board meetings, minute-taking, and AGMs. If organization, details, and absolute professionalism are your thing, we want to hear from you.
  • Officer, Honours and Awards: “And the winner is…” Share the good news with those shining bright in the profession, work with emerging talent, help deserving students receive support, and engage with seasoned Fellows. You will also need to like working with juries and committees – our volunteers are fantastic!
  • Office Administrator: Come keep our office in tip-top shape. Ensure our systems are running smoothly, and that equipment and supplies are organized and well stocked, while administering some of our key programs, including the delivery of MCIP® certificates (complete with a shiny gold seal!) to our newly certified members.
CIP is strongly committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. CIP welcomes and encourages applications from those who will contribute to the diversity of our community.
