This webinar, led by members of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) Climate Change Committee, empowered delegates to learn about and discuss how planners are driving climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts locally in a cost effective and affordable manner through community energy planning.

The presenters, including Natural Resources Canada, QUEST and the Region of Peel explored how community energy measures (land use, energy efficiency in buildings, and distributed energy resources) are simultaneously leading to deep greenhouse gas reductions and enhancing community resilience and economic competitiveness. The webinar also explored decision making tools, such as energy mapping, that can be used to support the implementation of CEPs.
