Reporting to the CEO and Planning Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting development and policy initiatives, reviewing and processing planning applications, and providing expert planning advice to residents, developers, and municipalities within the Commission\u2019s region.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for someone with a passion for community planning, a collaborative mindset, and the initiative to help shape the future of growth and development in Western New Brunswick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with the Planning and Development team on policy planning projects such as Municipal Plans and Zoning By-laws.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the review and update of policy documents including Zoning, Subdivision, and Building By-laws, and other planning-related policies.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present Planning Reports to the Planning Review and Adjustment Committee and Municipal Councils.<\/li>\n<li>Attend meetings and public consultations as requested by the Planning Director or CEO.<\/li>\n<li>Gather, analyze, and interpret economic, demographic, and statistical data to support planning recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information and guidance to the public regarding zoning, development control, and enforcement matters.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with developers and contractors prior to permit applications to review proposals and discuss requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of Provincial Acts, Regulations, and Municipal By-laws relevant to community planning.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Geography, or a related field (preferably from a recognized planning school).<\/li>\n<li>1\u20132 years of relevant experience in planning or a related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Eligibility for provisional membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and\/or eligibility for Registered<\/li>\n<li>Professional Planner (RPP) status in New Brunswick.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and other planning-related software tools.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of project management, research methodologies, and statistical analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interpret and administer the New Brunswick Community Planning Act.<\/li>\n<li>Valid New Brunswick Driver\u2019s License.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employment Type: Permanent, full-time<\/li>\n<li>Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. \u2013 4:00 p.m. (occasional overtime may be required)<\/li>\n<li>Work Arrangement: Eligible for hybrid and flexible work options<\/li>\n<li>Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience;
