This role is ideal for a professional with demonstrated experience in land use planning, technical report writing, and coordination of multidisciplinary development projects. This position is based in our Cold Lake Office<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and support the preparation of Area Structure Plans (ASPs) and outline plans, integrating land use policy, technical analysis, and engineering inputs<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate subdivision design and development applications from concept through approval<\/li>\n<li>Interpret municipal development plans, bylaws, and regulatory frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Support land use redesignations, zoning amendments, and development permit applications<\/li>\n<li>Conduct site analysis, land use assessments, and policy reviews<\/li>\n<li>Prepare high-quality technical planning reports, including:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0o\u00a0\u00a0 Area Structure Plans<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0o\u00a0\u00a0 Subdivision Design Briefs<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0o\u00a0\u00a0 Supporting documentation for municipal submissions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate technical and engineering inputs into clear, well-structured planning documents<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all documents meet municipal standards and submission requirements<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with municipal staff and regulatory agencies throughout approval processes<\/li>\n<li>Support client communication and project updates<\/li>\n<li>Participate in stakeholder engagement and consultation processes as required<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Public Engagement Plans in alignment with municipal policies and stakeholder requirements<\/li>\n<li>Plan, organize, and facilitate community open houses, public information sessions, and stakeholder meetings<\/li>\n<li>Prepare presentation materials including:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0o\u00a0\u00a0 Display boards, maps and concept plans<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Present subdivision and planning concepts clearly to non-technical audiences<\/li>\n<li>Respond to public inquiries and concerns in a professional and informed manner<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Public Engagement Summary Reports and supporting documentation for municipal submissions<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with civil design teams to align planning concepts with engineering design<\/li>\n<li>Review subdivision layouts, servicing concepts, and transportation networks<\/li>\n<li>Utilize or support drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or a related field.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in land use Planning, with a focus on subdivision and area structure planning.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with multidisciplinary consulting teams.<\/li>\n<li>Membership or eligibility for membership with a professional planning institute (e.g., RPP or equivalent) (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to prepare concise planning reports and supporting documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of municipal planning processes and land use planning principles.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines while coordinating multiple tasks.<\/li>\n<li>High attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with GIS and\/or AutoCAD Civil 3D<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience engaging with stakeholders and presenting to diverse audiences.<\/li>\n<li>Positive work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to support a variety of planning and project tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Class 5 driver\u2019s
