This includes an uncompromising work ethic, superb written and verbal communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>You are familiar with land use, policy development and interpretation, and balancing public and private, individual and community interests. You will lead the development of municipal land use policy through:<br \/>\u2022 The Banff Community Plan (Municipal Development Plan);<br \/>\u2022 Land Use Bylaw amendments;<br \/>\u2022 Council policies;<br \/>\u2022 Area Redevelopment Plans and Area Structure Plans; and,<br \/>\u2022 Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Having experience in a professional urban planning role will be helpful to build upon, as will experience in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments. You will apply inherent competencies to successfully multi-task and exercise sound judgment in decision making, independently prioritizing and facilitating a number of overlapping projects, and building relationships with community members. You will conduct your work within in a highly collaborative team environment that includes professionals leading development planning projects, environmental initiatives, and other supporting technical roles.<\/p>\n<p>Formally you have a post-secondary degree in urban planning or a related discipline such as architecture, or urban studies. You are also eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
