We can improve upon this approach by better accounting for the health (and subsequent economic) impacts of these plans. Transportation networks are also a key factor in placemaking. We have the ability to nurture places of social connection, which can have a positive impact on health through the reduction of physical and mental\/social isolation. Economic or financial impacts often speak the loudest in the decision-making process.
