Music and culture are vital to fostering vibrant communities, but spaces for creative expression are at risk, with numerous music venues closing due to redevelopment pressures. Vulnerable populations from different communities express themselves through music/culture, and spaces to support this are essential in a diverse city. How can we, as planners, strike a balance between the preservation of music venues and meeting our housing needs?
