Climate Risk Institute “New Pathways and Adaptation Content for Canadian Planners”

June 10, 2021 | Posted byPublié par : CIP | partnerships

The Climate Risk Institute (CRI), in partnership with CIP, is excited to announce a new NRCan BRACE-funded training program to bring additional in-depth climate change adaptation and resilience training to professional planners in the Prairies.

This new initiative will lead to training modules customized for planners that will integrate local and regional information on climate impacts, adaptation solutions, and policy frameworks. It will also build skills in key areas of need such as engagement and communication on climate. CRI will offer the training program in Fall 2021 and Winter 2022.

Volunteer Opportunities: Serve on the Advisory Committee to Develop Training on Climate Change and Resilience for Professional Planners

CRI will create a Prairie-based Advisory Committee to guide the development of novel training content. Committee members will attend three consultation workshops and review materials—a commitment of approximately 16 hours.

If you are interested in applying for an advisory role, please visit the Climate Risk Institute website or CIP’s Volunteer Opportunities for details about the expression of interest and terms of reference.  For more information, contact Paul Cobb, Project Manager with the CRI, at paul.cobb@climateriskinstitute.ca.
