Since 1983, CIP has been honouring outstanding planning projects for their excellence, innovation, and impact on the profession. Now, as we enter a new era, we’ve reimagined our awards program to reflect the evolving landscape of planning.

The Canadian Awards for Planning Excellence will continue this tradition by recognizing submissions that showcase innovation, make a positive impact on the profession, and demonstrate implementation potential.

What types of submissions are accepted?

Submissions can include research and policy publications, multi-media resources, and interactive tools. Examples may include articles, reports, books, videos, websites, podcasts, or other media that promote the planning profession, educate planners and the public at large on planning practices, or implement innovative planning policies or practices.

Do I, or a member of the team, need to be a CIP member in good standing?
