CIP and OUQ are pleased to announce Isabelle Picard as the keynote speaker for July 7, 2026.

Originally from Wendake, Isabelle Picard is a specialist in First Nations studies. Far from being confined to a single activity, Isabelle is an ethnologist, author, columnist, lecturer, consultant, and screenwriter.

Among her accomplishments, she initiated and worked to implement the Wendat language revitalization project and was the project manager for the establishment of Kiuna Institution, the first Indigenous CEGEP in Quebec. Isabelle Picard has also taught at UQAM and Saint Paul University. She has been a columnist for the newspaper La Presse since 2018. She has contributed and continues to contribute to various radio and television programs as a columnist or analyst.

In addition, she is a content consultant and screenwriter for several series and films. In May 2020, she became the first Indigenous Affairs Advisor at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) before returning to consulting in 2022. Since then, she has hosted her first radio show on CBC’s main channel and launched her first podcast on Ohdio, also on CBC.
