Website Huu-ay-aht First Nations
Huu-ay-aht First Nations is seeking proposals from qualified firms (exhibiting extensive experience in relevant subject matter whose team members are actively engaged in the planning profession, are appropriately accredited and have proven experience working with indigenous communities) to support amendments to the land use related plans and regulations under the Community Planning and Development Act (the Act). These include the Development and Building Permits Regulation, Land Use Plan Regulation, and Zoning Regulation. The selected firm will work with the Lands & Natural Resources Department to amend these regulations and ensure alignment with Huu-ay-aht’s core planning documents and strategic initiatives.
This is a high priority project and is critical to ensure that the regulations reflect community aspirations and support the implementation of the Nations’ Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Community Plan, Hišuk ma c̕awak Integrated Resource Management Plan, Community Energy Plan, and Framework Plan.
Proposals should include a comprehensive approach to community engagement and incorporate detailed strategies for aligning amendments with the broader goals of Huu-ay-aht First Nations.
