Provides career and professional development support to planners
We are seeking a highly motivated student or recent graduate from a planning or related degree program, for a part-time (approx. 10 hours/week), 3 month paid contract position (May-July, with possibility for extension).
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct research on planning and related topics, as well as emerging trends.
– Provide administrative support to a community of passionate planners and aspiring planners.
– Support the organization of virtual events, and preparation of professional development resources for planners.
– Assist with planning consulting work for a variety of clients across the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including contributing to ongoing planning projects, undertaking planning research, and supporting the coordination of development applications.
What We’re Looking For:
– A dynamic self-starter with excellent communication skills and, above all else, be passionate about planning and helping planners.
– Some experience with social media and Canva.
– Understanding of planning principles and development processes.
– Student membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners and/or another professional planning association is an asset.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative remote team.
