Chemawawin Cree Nation (CCN) has developed a Land Relations Plan. The Plan is intended to guide community development and the protection of resources on three reserves on the shores of Cedar Lake and Winnipegosis in Manitoba. It has been designed to celebrate the relationships that CCN members have with its lands and waters.
A key focus of the Plan has been tailoring its implementation to the unique context of CCN, to tie community vision and values to policy, policies to concept plans, and mapping of processes and procedures to effectively administer CCN laws under its Land Code. Join us to explore CCN’s approach to ensuring their Plan is living and changing, prescriptive but flexible, and fundamentally useful for the next 20 years and beyond.
